Fortnite v42.10 adds Prop Hunt mode and the return of Big Head

Epic Games released Fortnite update v42.10 on September 3, 2026, within Chapter 7 Season 4, which started on August 20 and runs through November 1.

The two headline additions

The update adds a dedicated Prop Hunt mode: players turn into objects scattered around the map and can literally hide in plain sight. On top of that, "Big Head," the mode from Chapter 7 Season 3, returns as an Override Hack option — one of the variants players can switch on over the base mode.

The rest of the update

v42.10 also adds new Sprites, Match Overrides, and Loot Hacks, alongside new weapons in the season's regular rotation.
